Cape Henlopen, Caesar Rodney among top boys' lacrosse seeds

DOVER — Five Henlopen Conference teams made the field for the DIAA boys’ lacrosse state tournament when the 16-team field was determined today.

The tourney begins with games on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

In the one game involving a Downstate squad being played on Tuesday, No. 8 Smyrna (13-2) hosts No. 9 St. Andrews (9-6) at 4 p.m.,

On Wednesday, No. 15 Sussex Tech (9-6) plays at No. 2 Cape Henlopen (11-4) at 6 p.m., No. 14 Sanford (8-7) is at No. 3 Caesar Rodney (11-4) at 7 p.m. and No. 13 Milford (9-6) goes to No. 3 Wilmington Friends (13-2) at 4 p.m.

Nationally-ranked Salesianum (13-2 is the top seed in the tournament. Tourney contests will be played at the higher seed until the finals, which are scheduled for June 1 at Delaware Military at 3 p.m.
