Special election will determine Ward 1 winner

MILFORD — While the names in this year’s mayoral race were the same as in the 2018 contest, the results were the opposite.

With a difference of 100 votes, City Councilman Todd Culotta beat out incumbent Mayor Archie Campbell in the election Saturday.

The vote tally in that race was 706-606.

In the campaign for the Ward 1 City Council seat, there was a tie, with residents casting 224 ballots for both incumbent Mike Boyle and challenger Madula Kalesis. Therefore, a special election will take place to determine the winner, on a to-be-announced date.

In Ward 2, Lori Connor prevailed over Nadia Zychal, 226-194.

Michael Stewart earned 147 votes in the Ward 3 race, beating Danny Perez, who garnered 93.

Lastly, in Ward 4, incumbent Councilwoman Katrina Wilson retained her position, taking 104 votes, while challenger Philip Ruiz had 74.

All results are unofficial until being approved by the Milford Board of Elections.

Each of the elected candidates will be sworn in at the city's annual organizational meeting at City Hall at 7 p.m. May 6.
