MIDDLETOWN — Continuing a long-running tradition, the annual Memorial Day Parade departed from Louis L. Middle School Monday morning.

The event was designed to “honor our deceased loved ones, our military personnel here and abroad and all others who have paid the ultimate sacrifice,” said Kenny Davis, chairperson of the parade committee for sponsor Stone Square Lodge #22.

“This is an honor for us to honor all our loved ones.

“This is why this parade has always been here for many, many, many years.

“I took over this parade in 2007 and it had been here long before that.”

Parade participants, among others, concluded Stone Square Lodge #22, Masonic lodges throughout Delaware, Louis L. Redding school alumni, classic car drivers, Dover Air Force Base Honor Guard, Phi Beta Sigma Inc., fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta Inc. sorority and St. Matthews Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star of Wilmington.
