Dewey Beach plans movies, bonfires

DEWEY BEACH — Movies and bonfires presented by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce are back for the summer.

The PG-rated films start at about 8:30 p.m. on the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue. The events are donation-based.

The schedule is as follows:

  • June 17 — “Minions: The Rise of Gru”
  • June 24 — “Under the Boardwalk”
  • July 1 — “National Treasure”
  • July 8 — “Wish”
  • July 15 — “Back to the Future”
  • July 22 — “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”
  • July 29 — “The Little Mermaid” live-action movie
  • Aug. 5 — “Turning Red”
  • Aug. 12 — “Elemental”
  • Aug. 19 — “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken”

Also, on Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m., bring the family and a chair to Dagsworthy Avenue for bonfires on the beach.

These events are weather-dependent. Cancellations will be determined no later than 7 p.m. on the day of the event for movies and by 6 p.m. for bonfires.
