Vehicle and motorcycle collide, leaving man dead in Dover

DOVER — A 64-year-old Pennsylvania man died Monday after the motorcycle he was operating was struck by a vehicle on North Dupont Highway.

Dover police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said the vehicle struck the rear of the motorcycle near Rustic Lane at approximately 12:30 p.m.

The injured man was transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in Dover and later pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending family notification.

The other driver was uninjured.

The road was closed for approximately three-and-a-half hours.
