GEORGETOWN — A new ordinance overseeing accessory dwelling units — currently governed by language concerning garage/studio apartments — is scheduled for a public hearing before the Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission on May 8.
Should this ordinance pass, residents would be able to install these types of units without a zoning variance, under certain conditions set by County Council.
The planning commission will not approve or deny the proposed ordinance, only make recommendations to County Council, which will hear the proposal at one of its future meetings.
