DOVER — Dover High took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the first inning before downing Caravel, 6-2, in non-conference baseball on Tuesday.
The victory was the seventh in a row for the Senators (10-5), who opened up a 5-1 advantage with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Dover’s winning streak is its longest since 2019. The Senators had lost their last four meetings with Caravel dating to 2013.
Winning pitcher Julian Christman gave up only one run and struck out seven for Dover. Kole Turner, Carter Bean, Ryan Perkins and Austin Chambers all had an RBI while Brandon Yoder had a pair of hits.
The Buccaneers had a two-game winning streak snapped to fall to 7-5.
