Water World is theme of this week's 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury

Posted

This week’s 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury will feature artists and crafters lining the streets, live music outside and loads of special activities.

This month’s theme is Water World – complete with wacky water misters, water balloons and a Fishmobile.

There’s always lots of cool things to do at 3rd Friday – from art shows to live entertainment – so head Downtown for a night out.

3rd Friday will be keeping things cool with a kid-friendly splash zone on Main Street complete with water misters and water balloons.

Kids can learn more about the water around us by stopping in the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center Fishmobile. The Fishmobile is a traveling aquarium equipped with 13 tanks and 2 touch tanks, all of which feature live animals that live in and around the Chesapeake Bay including blue crabs, painted turtles, oyster toadfish, American eels, seahorses and flounder.

On the North Division Street Stage, the Triple Vision Band will take the stage with upbeat groove, strong vocals and crowd-pleasing variety from the 1970s through the present.

Triple Vision Band is sure to put everyone in the mood for more musical fun at “Movies On The River,” held just after 3rd Fridays at Riverwalk Amphitheater.

This month’s movie is “Sing 2,” with a showtime at 8:45 p.m. – just don’t forget to bring your own chairs, blankets and popcorn.

On Main Street, be sure to stop in Salisbury Art Space for its 2022 Members Exhibition featuring the best-of works of Salisbury Art Space members.

Open to all themes and all media, the Members Exhibition shines a spotlight on some of area’s brightest talents. Winners have been awarded, and the show will be on display through the end of July.

Salisbury Art Space will also be hosting pottery wheel demonstrations on the Plaza and kids’ art activities in the classroom.

Looking for live entertainment? Brew River is hosting not one but two bands with The Salt Life Band from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Dock Bar and Best Kept Soul from 8 to midnight inside.

Revival is hosting the “Drag Queens of Comedy,” hosted by Magnolia Applebottom at 8 p.m., with tickets on sale for $12, ages 18 and up.

3rd Friday is a Downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, in cooperation with the city of Salisbury.  There is no charge for artists to participate, but advance registration is required.  For more information: 3rdfridaysby.com.
