There will be historical information on display, games for kids, charter boat rides, music from Riptide starting at 6 p.m. and a skipjack on display.

Joe Paden of Chesapeake Story Tours will give walking tours from 4 to 8 p.m. and all activities end with fireworks at 9. To be a vendor or for more information call the Somerset County Arts Council 410-968-2787.

Crisfield’s town charter was adopted in 1872 with the first election of Board of Commissioners on April 3 and first meeting on June 12. In 1910 the Mayor and City Council style of government was adopted and continues to this day. The name comes from John W. Crisfield, a congressman and attorney who was instrumental in bringing the railroad to what was known as Somers Cove.
