The Delmar Little League girls team received a heroes’ welcome on Tuesday when they received a police escort into town. The team came up one run short in losing to Texas, 5-4 in extra innings, in the World Series Championship game held Monday in Greenville, N.C. Delmar was attempting to become the first Maryland team to win the LLSWS. A win over the Philippines on Sunday placed Delmar in the title game with a perfect 4-0 record until Monday's defeat.
