Ring in the New Year in Historic Downtown Princess Anne and help Marshall Muskrat welcome 2023 as he descends to Somerset Avenue at midnight for his “Midnight Muskrat Dive.”

Bring family and friends for music, dancing, great food and drinks – and, of course – lots of quirky family fun.

The celebration begins at 9 p.m. and admission is free.

The muskrat drops at midnight, as Princess Anne welcomes 2023.

New this year, enjoy live music with Uprizing, free horse-drawn carriage rides, and Marshall Muskrat will dive from a 30-foot height, illuminated by a synchronized LED light display.

As he dives into the New Year, confetti will fill the air. 

Once again, free food will be available, with fresh-shucked oysters at an Oyster Bar and Smith Island Cake.

Alcoholic beverages and chili bowls will be available for sale at The Washington Inn & Tavern. Squeaky’s Cafe will be open until midnight, offering a menu of soups, salads, wings, sandwiches and desserts.

There will be free family-friendly activities throughout the evening, including live music and dancing, horse-drawn carriage rides and a muskrat photo booth.

New Year's Eve essentials will be available, including free New Year's hats and party favors, and a free sparkling cider toast at midnight.

The event will be held along Somerset Avenue between The Washington Inn and Tavern & Squeaky’s Cafe.

For those who wish to dine at the Washington Inn and Tavern, reservations are being accepted. Call 443-399-3353. On New Year's Eve the Washington Inn will offer a special menu items and drinks. The restaurant will be open until 9 p.m.

Food will be available for sale on the porch from 9 until midnight. The bar will remain open until 12:30 am. Squeaky’s Cafe will be open and serving food and beverages for the duration of the evening. 

The New Year’s Eve Midnight Muskrat Dive is hosted by Main Street Princess Anneand the town of Princess Anne.
