Great Glow Maze coming to Civic Center Oct. 30-31

Posted

Wicomico County’s Recreation and Civic Center divisions have partnered up to develop The Great Glow Maze, a new Halloween event taking place at the Wicomico Civic Center on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Civic Center’s Normandy Arena will transform into a spooky (but not scary) glow maze for the weekend, complete with Halloween music and decor. Attendees will navigate through the maze, searching for QR codes throughout. Each QR code is a piece to a puzzle. Those who can solve the puzzle at the end of the maze will win a prize.

“We realize families are looking for alternatives to traditional Halloween events this year,” said Program Director Jamie Nichols. “We’ve put a lot of effort into making The Great Glow Maze enjoyable and safe by following Covid-19 guidance from the Wicomico County Health Department and the Department of Emergency Services.”

Participants will receive a glow necklace (while supplies last). Everyone is encouraged to wear costumes or dress in the Halloween spirit.

All ages are welcome. The maze will include some obstacles, including stairs, as well as special effects lighting.

Attendees can choose to purchase a Fast Pass for $7 or a regular admission ticket for $5. Kids ages 2 and under are admitted free.

Fast Pass holders can arrive at any time during the event and skip to the front of the line. Fast Passes are available in advance only at the Civic Center box office. Purchase them in person or charge by phone at 410-548-4911. Box office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Regular admission tickets will be available at the door during the event.

Participants must wear masks at all times inside the venue. Additional health and safety protocols will be in effect, including physical distancing, entry screenings, cleaning and disinfecting and hand sanitizer stations.
