First Crisfield High soccer game under the lights is Sept. 6 vs. Cambridge-South Dorchester

CRISFIELD — The first-ever varsity soccer game under the lights at Crisfield High School starts 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 when the Crabbers host the Vikings from Cambridge-South Dorchester.

During a half-time ceremony, representatives from Somerset County Public Schools, the Somerset County Commissioners as well as CHS leadership will be on hand to flip the switch. The county and school board shared the $256,000 expense for the LED lights, with the county’s support being recognized with a certificate of appreciation.

During the season the lights will be used also for field hockey and for girls soccer which after two years as a club team is playing its inaugural varsity season. It is hoped that this improvement will give parents who were unable to make it to afternoon sporting events a chance to attend.

The stadium is accessible from the back of the school at  210 North Somerset Avenue.
