This week’s 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury will be held outdoors, with artists and crafters filling the streets, live music and special events.

This month’s theme is Paw Prints – so grab a leash and the pooch – and head on out to Downtown Salisbury.

Paw Prints is always a fan-favorite theme every year, and well-behaved pets are welcome to come enjoy the crowds.

The Wicomico Humane Society will be there with adoption info, and K-9 Legend Family Dog Training will be on-site doing live training demos.

Check out Honest 5 Dog Treats, Downtown Salisbury’s newest retail shop, specializing in 100 percent natural food for dogs, as they celebrate the Paw Prints theme with free pet portraits inside.

A cornhole game will be held outside, with donation proceeds benefiting the Wicomico Humane Society.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church will be hosting its annual Blessing of the Animals at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the courtyard, complete with family friendly prices on burgers and hotdogs.

On North Division Street, stop by the 3rd Friday table for pet paintings -- a safe and easy craft for pups of all sizes that ends up creating a work of art you can keep fur-ever.

There will also be live music on the main stage by the Permilla Project with their funky blend of rock favorites and a special dance performance at 5:30 p.m. from the Footsteps Dance Academy.

The Wicomico Library Reader Van will be out for a “Tails and Tales” themed Summer Reading Kick-Off with free books and goodie bag giveaways for everyone.

For even more animal themed adventures, check out The Jungle Book at the city of Salisbury’s Movies on the River, held just after 3rd Friday at the Riverwalk Amphitheater. It’s free to attend with showtime at 8:45 p.m.

Salisbury Art Space has a new water-themed exhibition on display --“SPLASH.”

It features art submitted by local artists in a variety of mediums. The show was judged by local artists and physicians Laura Mayer Kelley and Leslie Belloso, whose art will be on display in the Foyer Gallery area.

The winners will be announced during a special 3rd Friday reception from 5 to 7 p.m., with cash prizes for 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-place winners.

If you’re headed out this 3rd Friday, be sure to support some of the amazing local shops and restaurants in Downtown Salisbury.

Lilac Clothing Co. will be celebrating their one-year anniversary with special sales, $10 gift certificates for anyone who brings in a donation for the Wicomico Humane Society and a drink station outside the shop for any thirsty pups.

Soul Yoga Studio will be having a public class from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. plus check out their new merchandise and reiki offerings.

3rd Friday will no longer require facemasks for outdoor activities, but please remember masks could still be required inside.

The 3rd Friday’s virtual event on Facebook will continue to share event and community highlights for those who choose to continue to social distance.

3rd Friday is a Downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, in partnership with the city of Salisbury. For more information:  3rdFridaySby.com.
