FREDERICA — Delaware State Police arrested a 17-year-old male from Frederica on numerous criminal charges in connection to burglaries and thefts in the Frederica area, spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

Police said detectives began investigating numerous burglaries and thefts from motor vehicles in the High Point Mobile Home Park, Barkers Landing Mobile Home Park, East Bay Point and Barkers Choice communities in November.

On Nov. 27, troopers were investigating a theft from a motor vehicle when the juvenile was developed as a suspect for the case, and later in the previous incidents. He was taken into custody.

Among other offenses, the juvenile was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second- and third-degree burglary, criminal mischief over $5,000 and theft under $1,500 (13 counts).

He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Stevenson House.

The case remains an active and ongoing investigation. Police ask anyone who lives in these Frederica communities and believes they were a victim in an incident but did not make a police report to contact Detective Jason Sydnor at 302-698-8426 or jason.sydnor@delaware.gov.
