GEORGETOWN — Local author Máximo César Castellanos has released his latest book, “Dr. Pren and the Attack of the Germs."

In the small town of Pascanwan, George returns to Dr. Pren’s cabin. In this second visit, Dr. Pren tells George more about his life and the events that happened when he was 17 years old. Dr. Pren tells how a creation triggered a series of circumstances, putting the lives of hundreds of people at risk.

Dr. Pren shares how he developed a plan that led him in search of the threat. George will discover how the doctor and his friends defended people’s lives against the attack of the germs.

Máximo lives in Georgetown. At age 3, he began creating stories through drawings. At 4, he discovered the comics. Once he learned to read and write, he began to write chapter books. Máximo is now 12 and bilingual in Spanish and English. He likes to read and write stories, as well as to create illustrations, comics and short films.

He is a seventh-grade student and has dedicated this book to Mark J. Record, former principal of his school, Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Berlin, Maryland.

The book is the second in the Dr. Pren series and the eighth book written, translated and illustrated by Máximo. The English and Spanish editions are available for $15 on amazon.com and on barnesandnoble.com.
