The Hale-Byrnes House, the Stanton site of a 1777 Council of War between George Washington and his generals, has been memorialized in a painting that was unveiled Dec. 3. “Prelude to Brandywine” portrays the future president and his generals meeting three days after the Battle of Cooch’s Bridge. Delaware is home to many historical sites. Which do you enjoy visiting?
