Sen. McBride to speak at Coastal Georgetown branch meeting

REHOBOTH BEACH — The Coastal Georgetown branch of the American Association of University Women will meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16 at at Big Fish Grill.

The topic will be "Change and Why It Is and Must Still Be Possible" and Sen. Sarah McBride, D-Wilmington, will speak.

Ms. McBride was born in Wilmington and earned a bachelor's degree from American University. She has been national press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign, working with the Center for American Progress, the Barack Obama White House, former Delaware Gov. Jack Markell, and with former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden. 

Ms. McBride has served on the boards of directors at the Delaware Art Museum, the Delaware Colleges of Art and Design, and Equality Delaware. She currently serves as chair of the Senate Health & Social Services Committee and is a member of the Senate Housing, Judiciary, Veterans Affairs and Joint Legislative Oversight and Sunset Committees.
