SEAFORD — No injuries were reported as a residence and vehicle were struck by gunfire Wednesday, Seaford police spokesman Master Cpl. Eric Chambers said.

The incident occurred on Collins Avenue, in the area of Nutter Park, at approximately 8:29 p.m., authorities said. Police were conducting a nearby traffic stop when they heard multiple gunshots and saw a large group of people along Collins Avenue quickly dispersing, Cpl. Chambers said.

Additional officers from the Seaford Police Department and surrounding agencies arrived and secured the scene. Evidence indicated that there was more than one shooter, police said.

The residence was struck by gunfire multiple times, police added.

Authorities asked anyone with information on the shooting to contact 629-6645 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) 847-3333 or here.
