Polka Dot Powerhouse Dream Drive benefits local veterans

LEWES — Members of the Lewes Chapter of the Polka Dot Powerhouse collected and delivered four truck-loads of personal care goods for veterans at Home of the Brave in Milford in December.

The mission of the Home of the Brave is to reduce homelessness in the military veteran population. In addition to providing transitional housing, food and security, Home of the Brave assists with employment, counseling services, access to healthcare, transportation and locating affordable housing.

The collection of items and gift cards was part of the Polka Dot Powerhouse’s annual Dream Drive to benefit local non-profits.

Dot members set up drop off locations around the community and collected the items throughout the months of November and December 2022. They delivered the collection along with home baked cookies.
