Millsboro man faces eighth DUI charge

Posted

MILLSBORO – Tipped by a concerned citizen, Millsboro police Saturday afternoon arrested a 55-year-old Millsboro man who had seven prior DUI convictions on another felony offense of driving under the influence.

Terence J. Wise was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on an $20,100 cash bond, Millsboro Police Department Sgt. David Moyer said.

After a citizen called 911, Millsboro police at approximately 3:40 p.m. conducted a traffic stop on Wise’s vehicle located at the Arby’s restaurant. Wise was found in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running and officers detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Wise, who exhibited several other signs on impairment, Sgt. Moyer said.

As part of the investigation, police discovered that Wise had seven prior convictions for DUI, as well as a revoked driver’s license. In addition to felony DUI, police charged Wise with driving without a valid driver’s license, Sgt. Moyer said.
