MILLSBORO — A 45-year-old Millsoboro man was arrested on felony charges following an altercation on Thursday night.

At 11 p.m., Christopher Fedder and a 52-year-old male acquaintance were at a residence on Sport Drive when a verbal argument ensued. It escalated, and Mr. Fedder retrieved a rifle and shot the acquaintance once in a lower extremity, police said.

The victim drove himself to a friend, who helped get to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.

Mr. Fedder was taken into custody on Friday and transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with second-degree assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
