Man critically injured in Dagsboro blaze

DAGSBORO — A 46-year-old man was critically injured in a fire early Monday.

Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office spokesman Michael Chionchio said the blaze was reported shortly after 3 a.m. in the 32000 block of DuPont Boulevard. Firefighters arrived on the scene with a recreational camper engulfed in flames, he said.

One victim was transported from the scene and taken to the Christiana Hospital suffering from critical burns and fractures. The victim has been transferred to the Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania.

The blaze also burned several other RV campers in a wooded area off U.S. 113, Mr. Chionchio said. Heavy fire damage is estimated at $10,000.
