DAGSBORO — Nominations are being sought for the Indian River High School Hall of Fame.
Dec. 1 is the nomination deadline for the hall, which honors alumni who have made outstanding achievements in the community and beyond.

The Selection Committee is looking for graduates who exhibit great character, citizenship and leadership and who have made significant contributions in their field and region.

The nominee must have graduated from Indian River at least 10 years prior to the nomination. The candidates will be evaluated on achievements and recognition in their chosen fields (in the local, state, national or international arenas).

Previous inductees include educators, legislators, artists, civic leaders, athletes, first responders and more. They’ve come from as near as Dagsboro and as far as Texas and Michigan.

Recent induction classes included Faye Blake in 2019 and Brandon Donaway, Tracy Hilliard, state Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf and Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long in 2018.

There were no inductions in 2020. The first inductions were in 1990.

Nomination forms can be downloaded here. Submissions must include the nomination paperwork, plus a recommendation letter from another individual.

Late applications will not be accepted.

Nominations will be carefully considered by the committee. The winner will be recognized with an award plaque at an event in 2022.

The nomination/induction process is facilitated by the Indian River High School Alumni Association, a nonprofit group formed in 2012 to connect graduates, while supporting and promoting IRHS.

The association meets monthly and welcomes new members. Visit here for more information.
