Delaware Transportation Department announces annual Name That Plow contest

Posted

The Delaware Department of Transportation is launching its second annual Name That Plow contest for elementary school students across the state.

Last winter’s winners were from Newark Charter School, Lake Forest North Elementary School in Felton and Richard A. Shields Elementary School in Lewes.

“Our inaugural Name That Plow contest last year was a success, with more than 100 entries received. We had a great time visiting the three schools to allow students to get up close with the plow and learn about the hard work by our snowplow operators and technicians tasked with keeping our roads clear during winter storm events,” said Secretary of Transportation Nicole Majeski.

“We look forward to doing it again this year and asking students to remind their family and friends to give our plows plenty of room to work this winter.”

One winner from each county will be selected and will have a plow visit their school.
Entries will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Dec. 13 via dotpublic@delaware.gov.
