GEORGETOWN — The 10th annual Run, White & Blue 5K and 1-mile walk will be held Sept. 7 at Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus, 21179 College Drive.
The race benefits scholarships for veterans and first responders.
Registration starts at 5 p.m., with the event beginning at 6, near the Student Services Center.
Sign up in advance at go.dtcc.edu/run5k. The cost is $25 for adults before Tuesday ($30 afterward); $10 for students, military, first responders and ages 2-17 before Tuesday ($30 after); and $25 for “Silent Marchers,” who can donate, stay at home and be mailed a T-shirt.
There will be a family-friendly, post-race cookout featuring live music, barbecued chicken cooked by Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co., ice cream from Vanderwende’s and beer from Big Oyster Brewery.
Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top finishers in each age group. There will also be a variety of games and activities for kids.
