MILTON — Haley Alexander was crowned Miss Delaware’s Outstanding Teen on April 19 at the Milton Theatre.

A Delaware native, Haley currently attends Cab Calloway School of the Arts in Wilmington, where she is a senior dance major.

When she isn’t in the dance studio or studying for a future career in sports medicine, she is actively promoting environmental sustainability and advocating for her platform; Think Smart, Think Green-Recycle! In her free time, she enjoys playing with her pet rabbit and two dogs, or hiking in Delaware’s many state parks.

Miss Delaware’s Outstanding Teen Program is a state preliminary program to Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Program. The competition consists of several parts of competition, including a 10-minute interview in front of a panel of judges, an on-stage performing talent, physical fitness & activewear, evening gown, and an on-stage question.

Five other candidates vied for the title, including Angela Aubain of Wilmington, Aayushi Sharma of Hockessin, Jaylynn Rogers of Camden, second runner-up Olivia Fox of Millsboro, and first runner-up Mikayla Dayton of Seaford.

The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Program is for teen girls ages 13-17. It is designed to promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement and will be held in Orlando, Florida in July.
