CRISFIELD — Do you dislike school uniforms? At Woodson Elementary School at least on Fridays you can be less grumpy about your wardrobe as you can forgo the standardized tops required by policy and put on Spirit Wear instead.
Orders are being accepted at school until Oct. 6 for shirts in various colors sporting the Woodson Wave logo.
Somerset County Public Schools requires oxford or polo shirts in white, burgundy, yellow, black or blue only. Bottoms are navy blue or khaki pants, capris, walking shorts, jumpers, skirts or shorts.
The policy was introduced in 2009 at Greenwood and Deal Island schools, then expanded in 2010 to Woodson, Princess Anne Elementary, and Somerset Intermediate.
Academy and high school grades were added in 2012 to make the requirement systemwide.
