Weighty winter storm freezes limbs, residents

Posted

CAMBRIDGE — On Friday, Dorchester residents woke to the sound of chainsaws and axes, as neighbors began clearing debris from the previous day’s ice storm. Branches heavy with ice cracked and fell through Saturday, causing, in most cases, minor damage.

This cedar limb in the Lodgecliffe area west of Cambridge narrowly missed vehicles and power lines, but tore down most of a smaller tree as it came to rest in a front yard.
