BLADES — A 35-year-old Seaford man was arrested on weapon and drug charges Wednesday after troopers were called to a convenience store to check on his welfare, Delaware State Police said.

According to authorities, at approximately 7:28 a.m., troopers and emergency medical services were dispatched to Royal Farms, 8800 Concord Road, to check on the welfare of a male, later identified as George Reha.

Police said Mr. Reha appeared to be nodding off while in the driver’s seat of a GMC Sierra. Upon contact, he displayed signs of being under the influence of drugs, and a DUI investigation ensued. Mr. Reha was taken into custody without incident.

He was searched, and $8,797 in suspected drug proceeds were located in his pants’ pocket, police said, adding that approximately 6 grams of cocaine, a bowie knife and a switchblade were found in the Sierra.

Mr. Reha was charged with fourth-offense DUI, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a switchblade. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2, Rehoboth Beach, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $9,500 cash bond.
