Veterans’ town hall meeting Oct. 5 at Legion Post 28

MILLSBORO – A veterans town hall meeting focusing on health care and benefits support will be held Saturday, Oct. 5 at American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro.

The event is sponsored by Sussex County Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1105, and Post 28. It will be held in the Post’s main dining hall starting at 9 a.m.

From 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. information on claims and a health care session will be held. The time from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is for Veterans Affairs health care sign-up and filing of claims.

This encompasses veterans’ disability benefits, veteran healthcare enrollment access, widow and spouse pension, and homeless and end of life care.

In addition to veterans who are welcome, attendees expected to attend include Sussex County elected officials, VA benefits manager, and representatives of the VA health care, Wilmington Medical Center and the Delaware Office of Veteran Services.

Veterans are reminded to bring DD Form 214 and medical information.

Legion Post 28 is located at 31768 Legion Road, Millsboro, just off John J. Williams Highway several miles east of the Town of Millsboro.
