Two unoccupied vehicles struck by gunfire in Dover

DOVER — Two empty vehicles were struck by gunfire Monday, Sgt. Mark Hoffman of the Dover Police Department said.

According to police, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Collins Drive for a report of a person with a firearm in the area, but they did not locate the subject.

Witnesses advised the officers that there had been an altercation between several people nearby, and an unidentified male fired multiple rounds, striking two unoccupied vehicles, Sgt. Hoffman said.

No injuries were reported.
