LEWES - Hope Wheatley, 50, of Laurel, and 30-year-old Amanda Adkins, 30, of Bridgeville, have been charged with hindering prosecution charge after an incident earlier this month, Delaware State Police said.

Police said Ms. Wheatley and Ms. Adkins entered the Tokyo Steakhouse with wanted sex offender Danny Adkins, 52, of Laurel, on June 9. Police received a report of Mr. Adkins on the premises but he and the females had left prior to troopers arrival, spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.

Ms. Wheatley and Ms. Adkins were uncooperative with troopers when later asked about their involvement with Mr. Adkins, police said.

Ms. Wheatley was taken into custody without incident at her residence on Thursday. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2.

Also on Thursday, Ms. Adkins went to DSP Troop 4, where she was arraigned by JP Court 2 and released on her own recognizance.

Police said Mr. Adkins remains sought. He currently has two active felony warrants.
