DOVER — Two Dover men were arrested on firearms charges Saturday, after officers contacted six people gathered around a vehicle who were allegedly smoking marijuana, police said.

According to Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman, the incident occurred at around 11:47 p.m. in the 100 block of South Bradford Street and officers saw two handguns that had been placed underneath a Ford Fusion.

Police determined that the firearms belonged to Jermaine Brown Jr., 20, and George Robinson, 23, Sgt. Hoffman said. Both firearms were reported stolen out of Delaware State Police Troop 9, authorities said.

Mr. Brown was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited (four counts), receiving a stolen firearm (two counts), second-degree conspiracy, tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $7,000 cash bond.

Mr. Robinson was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited (four counts), receiving a stolen firearm (two counts), second-degree conspiracy and tampering with physical evidence. He was committed to SCI on a $24,000 cash bond.
