Train garden open through December in Cambridge

Posted

A large, festive crowd of all ages gathered at the Rescue Fire Company Train Garden on Dec. 1 for the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours and ribbon cutting for opening night.

This is the 87th Annual RFC Train Garden. This year’s themes include a tribute to Train Gardens of the Past, dedicated to longtime Rescue Fire Company member, John Thomas.

The Harvesters at the Holidays display honors Dorchester County’s heritage of bountiful seafood and farming production, and there is, as always, the central display.

After several dignitaries spoke at the ribbon cutting, RFC President Shyheim Dawson thanked everyone for coming and the sponsors and volunteers for making it happen.

The Tower 1 Truck joined in, then the trains were turned on for the season.

The train garden is open every night at 307 Gay Street, Cambridge, for the month of December from 6-9 p.m., as well as 1-4 p.m. Sundays. Find event details on Facebook at @RFCTrainGarden or on the web at https://rfctraingarden.org.
