Teenager shot and injured in Simon Circle

DOVER – A 16-year-old male was shot and injured on Friday, June 14, in the 300 block of Simon Circle, according to the Dover Police Department.

The investigation began at 9:49 p.m. on Friday when Dover police received a call for shots fired in Simon Circle.

Officers responded and located the victim who had sustained gunshot wounds to his lower body. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment and later discharged.

An investigation revealed that the suspects entered the Simon Circle neighborhood with firearms and shot the victim. The suspects then fled in a vehicle.

Detectives are actively working to determine the exact number of suspects and any description. There are no additional leads at this time.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302) 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous.
