GEORGETOWN — Sussex Technical School District will continue remote learning through next week after recent positive COVID-19 tests, officials said Friday.
The district will continue remote learning through March 5.
The decision comes after recommendations by the Delaware Division of Public Health out of an abundance of caution after recent positive COVID-19 test results among people connected to the campus child care center, spokesman Dan Shortridge said in a statement.
Any people who need to quarantine or take other action are being notified by the DPH, officials said.
"We thank you for your continued patience and understanding," the high school wrote on Facebook. "These changes can be difficult, but are in the best interest of the health and safety of our students and staff and the entire campus community."
The district has been remote since earlier this week. On Tuesday evening, the district announced it would close school buildings after positive cases connected to the child care center.
