Sussex County Genealogical Society to gather Jan. 21

Posted

LEWES — The Sussex County Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at the Lewes Public Library.

The event will also be available virtually.

The topic is “Researching at Nabb Center: Holdings of Local Materials & Other Areas” by research assistant Aaron Horner.

The Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture at Salisbury (Maryland) University is a humanities laboratory for students that also fulfills needs of area researchers. Founded in 1982, it was endowed in 1998 by Mr. Nabb, an attorney and philanthropist from Cambridge, Maryland, and renamed in his honor.

Visitors frequent the Nabb Research Center for its wealth of information on family and cultural history. Distinctive photo and artifact collections bring the Eastern Shore of the past 150 years to life, offering insight into its heritage.

All are welcome to the society’s meeting. Nonmembers may request a Zoom invitation by emailing programs@scgsdelaware.org.
