GEORGETOWN – The Indian River School District announced Tuesday that Sussex Central High School staff members have been placed on administrative leave.

In its statement, the district said members of the SCHS staff were placed on administrative leave by the school district Monday.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and state and federal laws protecting the privacy rights of employees prevent the district from commenting further at this time,” the district stated.

The district offered no further information.

Contacted Wednesday afternoon, Sussex Central High School Principal Dr. Bradley Layfield said, ‘Unfortunately, there is nothing more I can add.”
