‘Stuff the Truck’ takes place in Dover on Saturday

DOVER — The Capitol City and Dover Lions clubs will be holding a “Stuff the Truck” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on Martin Luther King Boulevard, in front of Legislative Hall.

The event will benefit Code Purple and the Food Bank of Delaware, with the vehicle being provided by Two Men and a Truck.

Supplies needed are hats, sweaters, long underwear, unwrapped socks, gloves, sleeping bags and backpacks.

Nonperishable food requested includes hot and cold cereal, peanut butter, canned fruits, canned meats, canned vegetables and spaghetti sauce (low-sodium and/or low-sugar when possible).

Also accepted will be used eyeglasses for recycling.
