So far, Delaware has spent 69% of the $927 million in funding allotted to it by the $2 trillion March 2020 federal CARES Act, according to state Auditor Kathy McGuiness.
“Delawareans deserve to know exactly where that federal money is being spent and how it is helping them as they struggle with effects of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Ms. McGuiness said. “That’s why I developed a CARES Act Fund Tracker on my website — to let taxpayers see a breakdown of how much money each state agency has spent.”
The site, which is updated each Monday, can be accessed at CARES Act Fund Tracker.
Delaware’s Department of Education, State Housing Authority and State Fire Prevention Commission have all spent at least 95% of their allocated funds, while the Department of Labor has spent 85% of its almost $200 million allotment. The Office of Management and Budget has spent just 9% of its roughly $150 million.
