CAMBRIDGE - It’s not too soon to prepare for the Annual Members’ Show and Sale at Dorchester Center for the Arts. This yearly exhibit showcases the talents of current members and represents a variety of mediums. DCA appreciates the support that membership provides and is honored to have this annual opportunity to shine the spotlight on member creativity.

The show runs from June 2-24. Anyone who would like to participate but is unsure about the status of their membership is welcome to call DCA to verify. If you are not a member, now is an exciting time to join.
Entries must be original works of the exhibiting artist. “Original” means never having occurred or existed before and invented or created by the exhibitor. No copies of art or photographs by other persons may be exhibited. Work shown in a previous DCA Members’ Show may not be entered again. Exhibiting artists are welcome to sell their work during the show.

DCA will retain a commission of 35% of the selling price of each item sold. The artist will be paid approximately one month after the end of the show.
Four entries will be accepted per person. Entry forms will be available by April 1 at DCA or online at dorchesterarts.org.

Forms should be completed and returned to DCA by April 30. Artwork can be dropped off on Wednesday, May 22, noon-4 p.m., Thursday, May 25, noon-8 p.m., or Friday, May 27, noon-4 p.m. Work must be clearly labeled with the artist’s name, the title of the piece, the medium and the price.

Awards will be presented for Best in Show, Best Depiction of Dorchester County, Most Creative, and People’s Choice during the Second Saturday Artists’ Reception on June 10, 5-7 p.m. The reception is free, featuring light refreshments and live music, and the public is welcome to attend.

Questions? Call 410-228-7782 or stop by the center at 321 High Street in Cambridge. DCA is open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, noon-8 p.m.

For more information on additional programs and activities at DCA, visit online at dorchesterarts.org. As the designated County Arts Council for Dorchester, DCA is committed to increasing access to the arts for all members of the community by supporting extensive outreach and educational opportunities in the arts.
