WESTOVER — A calendar for the 2022-23 school year preferred by a majority of parents and staff was unanimously adopted on second reader by the Somerset County Board of Education at its regular March meeting.
After three days of new teacher orientation Aug. 16-18 it has all teachers reporting the next week for five days with Aug. 29 being the first day for students. That will be a four-day week with the Labor Day holiday starting Friday, Sept. 1.
Other highlights include a day off for the Nov. 8 General Election, three days off during Thanksgiving week, and two weeks off for Christmas.
Spring break starts after a half-day on Thursday, April 6, 2023 with students returning to class the following Tuesday.
The last three days of school June 6-8, 2023 are half days. Three inclement weather days will be added if necessary.
