DOVER — A 31-year-old Smyrna man was arrested on felony drug charges following a Tuesday afternoon traffic stop, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.
Barry Lankford was stopped while driving a vehicle with an expired registration on U.S. 13 in the area of Webbs Lane, authorities said. An odor of marijuana was detected and a vehicle search was conducted, according to police. Approximately 13.89 grams of marijuana were located in the search, along with 39 Oxycodone pills and 20 Ecstasy pills, Cpl. Pepper said.
Mr. Lankford was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, along with possession of marijuana, driving while suspended, failure to have insurance identification in possession, and expired temporary registration plate. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $15,002 unsecured bond.
