Six RBI day for Fischer gets win for Holotik

CAMBRIDGE – Cambridge Little League season is well underway, and so are the skills of local softball players.

Olivia Fischer was an RBI machine on April 28, driving in six on three hits to lead Megan Holotik past Winstead Fire 22-12, in Major Softball action. Olivia drove in runs on a walk in the first, a single in the second, a home run in the third, a single in the fourth, and a groundout in the fifth.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Holotik collected 21 hits and Winstead Fire had five. Megan Holotik got things started in the first inning, when Olivia drew a walk, scoring one run.

Holotik pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second, an error scored one run for Holotik, Ellie E. singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Olivia singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and Lilly M. drew a walk, scoring one run.

Holotik put up six runs in the fifth inning. The rally was led by singles from Zaylee S. and Sophia D., a triple by Ellie, and a groundout by Olivia.

Winstead Fire scored five runs in the fifth inning, driven by Madisyn, home runs by Isabella and Jamie, and an error on a ball put in play by Emma.

Lilly took the win for Holotik. The righty went five innings, allowing 12 runs on five hits and striking out 13.

Emma took the loss for Winstead Fire. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing 21 hits and 22 runs, while striking out seven.

Holotik launched three home runs on the day. Lilly and Olivia went for the long ball in the third inning, while Zaylee put one out in the fourth.

Holotik racked up 21 hits in the game. Ellie, Olivia, Charlotte E., Sophia, Zaylee, Kendall H., and Lilly all managed multiple hits, with Ellie leading the charge with four hits in five at bats.

Winstead Fire had five hits in the game. Isabella and Jamie each had multiple hits.
