Second Street Players to present 'The Odd Couple' in Milford

Posted

MILFORD — Second Street Players will present the Neil Simon comedy classic, “The Odd Couple” later this month.

When Felix, the uptight, neat freak news writer, arrives late for the weekly poker game because his wife has thrown him out, Oscar, his happy-go-lucky, recently divorced sportswriter slob friend, invites Felix to move in with him.

In just a few short weeks, Oscar goes crazy with fastidious, neurotic Felix; in turn, Felix’s patience begins to wane with Oscar’s slovenly and carefree way of living. Ultimately, they learn they really only have two things in common – their poker playing buddies and failed marriages; but they also realize they have something to learn from each other.

Written by Neil Simon and making its Broadway debut in 1965, “The Odd Couple” garnered four Tony Awards, including Best Play.

Directed by Marge Ventura and assistant director Ann Nichols, all performances will be at the Riverfront Theater, 2 S. Walnut St. in Milford and are scheduled the weekends of April 21, 22, 23 and 28, 29 and 30. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday shows begin at 2 p.m.

Seats are $20 with a $1 discount available to seniors, students and theater members. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit Secondstreetplayers.com.
