DAGSBORO – All aboard!

With an open invitation to the public, Delaware SeaSide Railroad Club will hold its first Train Load Yard Sale of 2021 on Saturday at the club’s Clayton Crossing clubhouse location.

Model train engines, cars, track, buildings and operating accessories will be offered for sale in all gauges by both independent vendors and the club with sales tables set up both indoors and outdoors.

The load yard sale will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Admission is free.

The DSRC’s featured item at the show will be a new turnkey N-gauge 4-by-8-feet layout complete with trains, controls, scenery and buildings.

During this event, the club’s model train displays will be in operation for attendees’ viewing and enjoyment, said DSRC spokesman Mark Fisher.

Masks, social distancing and capacity controls required by state of Delaware regulations will be in effect.

Since COVID-19’s arrival in March 2020, DSRC has opted for smaller, less intensive seasonal events at its clubhouse in lieu of major train show events traditionally held in spring and fall at the Roxana Volunteer Fire Company.

“We’ve done four of them, and all four of them have been to a degree very successful,” said Mr. Fisher. “We’re hanging in there and doing our best.”

The Delaware SeaSide Railroad Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Its mission is to preserve and promote the history and hobby of model railroading.
