Every day, the news reports on injuries and deaths of pedestrians on Delaware streets and highways, especially at night.
Now, I’m aware that this may be due to people not following nighttime guidelines, but there is a bigger problem that may be the cause. I constantly drive during nighttime hours and have noticed many, many vehicles being operated without their headlights/taillights illuminated.
I don’t understand how drivers can operate vehicles at night and not realize they’re driving without headlights. I strongly suggest that the police departments monitor the roads and cite these drivers. I’m sure this will drastically improve pedestrian safety.
