Samuel Mark Hinman

Samuel Mark Hinman, age 59, of Crisfield, MD, died on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at his home.
Born on September 1, 1964 in Crisfield, he was a son of the late William "Slugger" and Diane Evans Hinman. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy McDorman, Jr. in 2009.
He attended Crisfield area schools. Sam was a Waterman by trade as well as a painting contractor for many years.
Sam was truly a free spirit. He touched many lives during his journey and was known by many nicknames over the years, including Sam Rock, Big Poppa, Sambo, Toucan Sam and Superman to name a few.
Sam loved people. He loved gatherings, story telling and laughter.
He is survived by two sons, Billy Hinman of Crisfield and Jordan Hinman (Cassie Outten) of Salisbury.; six grandchildren; Brooklyn Hinman, Trinidy Hinman, Harlow Hinman, David Dixon, Kayla Dixon and Irene Chandler; siblings Michelle Pruitt (Royce), Preston Hinman (Faye), Donelle Hall (Rudy, Jr.); lifelong friend Moose Labo; his beloved 12 year old English Springer Spaniel, Mary Jane, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 22, 2024 at 3 p.m. at the Crisfield American Legion located at 116 Lorie Quinn Road, Crisfield, MD 21817.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Somerset Humane Society, The Diabetes Association, or the American Legion Post #16 in their continuous financial support of the Crisfield Community.
