Ruth Ann Dickerson, 84

Ruth Ann Dickerson, of Milford, DE, gained her angel wings on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at home. Ruth Ann was born in Salisbury, MD, the daughter of Leon Adams and Ruth A. Morris (stepfather William E. Morris). A proud graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1958, Ruth Ann also earned her certificate in Cosmetology in 1961 from Philadelphia, PA. She worked as a line operator for L.D. Caulk for 18 ½ years before retiring in 1995

A devoted member of Lighthouse Christian Center, Ruth Ann found joy in serving others, whether it was through preparing meals for friends and family, singing in the church choir, or participating in various women’s groups. She shared her time and talents with others giving a helping hand where needed. Ruth Ann had a passion for travel and cherished the opportunity to explore new places. One of her greatest joys was taking her grandchildren camping, where she created lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and adventure.

Ruth Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph L. McIlvain; her brother, William M. Adams; and her step-siblings: William E. Morris Jr., Wayne Morris, Betty Klapp, and Diane Simpson.

 She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Jay Dickerson; her son, J.R. Dickerson (Kim); her daughter, Paige McIlvain (Donald); three grandchildren, Jessica Ritter (Brooks), Jeremy Dickerson (Veronica), and John McIlvain (Ciana); great-grandchildren, Hannah Cannady Dickerson, Ari Dickerson, Austin Dickerson, Hannah Ritter, Sophia Ritter, and Ava Ritter; her sister, Leona Adams Clendaniel; and several nieces and nephews. Ruth Ann will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love for God  was evident in everything she did, whose faith never waivered. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, where a service will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Milford Community Cemetery, Route 113, Milford.
